  • COMING SOON

We are Toronto's Purr Therapy and Coffee Lounge and we're on a mission to change the face of pet adoption through a relaxed and stress free environment; for both cats and people.

The goal of the Kitty Cat Café is to provide another route to adoption, in an entertaining and relaxing environment. Maybe you don't have time or space in your life for a cat, but you love watching them play. Maybe you miss your kitty and want to pop in for a fur-fix. Maybe you're looking to add to your family but need some one-on-one time. Or, maybe you just love cats and coffee, and are tired of having to choose!

When you visit the Kitty Cat Café, you'll help bring awareness to Toronto's homeless cat problem. You may even learn something new about cat ownership. Ideally, you'll find your furry companion and give a kitty a forever home. Together, we will be improving a cat's life and even your own, with all the affection these kitties have to give.

So, what is there to do at Kitty Cat Café? You can hang out with friends (two legs or four), work, study, enjoy free WiFi, attend an event or just relax...all in the company of furry felines.

We also have purrfectly fun events for both adults and children! Adults will enjoy our Online Date Night, Cat's Pyjama's movie and TV series nights, talks by veterinarians and animal nutrition and behaviour specialists. For the kids, we have family familiarity days and "Litter-ature" days through the Dundas West Animal Hospital, where kids can read books to cats! These are just a few of the events we have in store. We will have a schedule on-line shortly so you can book your space in advance.

Of course, we couldn't do this without our fantastic partners!

    T.E.A.M Cat Rescue

    Together. Every. Animal. Matters.
    Toronto. Ontario
T.E.A.M Cat Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer and foster based cat rescue organization in Toronto that assists and rescues displaced cats that find themselves homeless, either in a high kill shelter or on the streets. These kitties are social, adoptable and ready for some love!

Every cat at the café has been screened by a veterinarian and also receives regular veterinarian check-ups.

Together with T.E.A.M Cat Rescue, Kitty Cat Café will host monthly adopt-a-thon's, showcasing additional furry felines looking for forever homes.

  • HOUSE RULES

We want your experience to be PURRfect, that's why we have some HOUSE RULES.

To ensure the safety for all guests and the serenity of the cats, we have a few simple rules to follow when hanging out at the café.

    1. Do not wake a sleeping cat. If they are having a bad dream, they may scratch you! If they are having a great dream, well, it's just mean to wake them from it.

    2. Cats can be assholes. There, I said it. They are unpredictable and may use you as a chew toy. Kitty Cat Café is NOT liable for any scratches or bites you may suffer while petting these furry felines. If you don't want to take the risk, a Cat Café is not a place for you to visit. Seriously. We are not liable. Do not try to sue us. Each guest will be asked to sign a waiver before entering the cat area.

    3. Unfortunately, your children scare the cats. Just as cats are unpredictable, children are also. That's why we have created special days and events for children - so they can learn about proper interaction with cats and be monitored by YOU and our cat room supervisor. Children under the age of 7 are not permitted in the café UNLESS ON SPECIFIED DAYS. Children over the age of 7 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.

    4. Do not feed the cats any human food. We have treats you can purchase to feed them should you choose. You may also want to keep the lid on your beverage to ensure the kitties aren't tempted by your drinks or even worse, knock them over. Remember what I said about cats being assholes?

    5. Do not pick up a cat. Not all cats like to be picked up. Don't worry, cats are curious creatures and will approach you when they are ready for some loving.

That's it! Just 5 simple rules. Easy!!

    Here's what people are asking

Can I bring my cat to Kitty Cat Café?
Nope. Sorry. All cats at the café have been examined by a veterinarian and animal behaviourist. We cannot introduce outside cats.

I need to find a home for a cat. Will you take it? Can I drop it off at the café?
Heck no. Read above. If you are trying to find a home for a kitty, try a rescue organization or the Humane Society.

Are you exploiting the cats to make money?
Absolutely not. Our policy is CAT first, meaning they are our priority. They are living the life of luxury at the café, all with the end goal of finding them their FURever home. We are trying to change the face of cat adoption. Also, all cats are monitored by a veterinarian, our rescue organization and have been seen by an animal behaviourist. Their well-being is covered.

Can I book Kitty Cat Café for a special event?
For sure! Contact us to discuss further.

How much is the cover fee?
We will be charging an hourly entry fee which will be determined closer to launch.

If I adopt a cat at Kitty Cat Café, can I take it home right away?
We know you want to get your kitty home quickly however, we will be hosting monthly adopt-a-thons. At that time, TEAM Cat Rescue will be completing the adoption process for you. Once that is finalized, you can take your furry friend home.

What about cat hair in my food? That's just gross. Do you make the food on site?
The café and the cat common area are completely separate spaces and have received the thumbs up from Toronto Public Health. Any food that is prepared on-site has not come in contact with anything feline!  We cannot serve you your food in the cat common area but you can bring it in yourself.  It's up to you to decided if you want to enjoy it in the café section or in the cat common area.

What if a cat bites or scratches me? Can I sue you?
No. We are not liable. If you want to avoid the possibility of this from happening, you should stay in the café portion and not venture into the cat common area. You will be asked to sign a liability waiver upon entry into the cat common area.

  • WHO WE ARE

    Jennifer Morozowich

    Chief Cat Wrangler
I can't even think of a time in my life when animals weren't a part of it. I come from a family of animal advocates and have been a cat lover since birth. My mother is fond of recounting tales of waking me up in the morning as a small child, only to find me curled up in a ball at the bottom of the bed. Our two cats and dog were found asleep on my pillow and in the middle of the bed. I would do anything to make sure their comfort came first. This attitude has stuck with me through my adult years.
Over the past 15 years, I've fostered and rescued cats through the Annex Cat Rescue and am actively involved in the TNR program (trap, neuter, release).

You may be wondering why I decided to open Kitty Cat Café.

I've spent the majority of my career in advertising and market research. I've been a strategist, moderator and creativity facilitator. Although I love my career, there was always something missing. That's why, I decided to combine my love for business and cats and open Kitty Cat Café.
